Aahun Aahun Aahun!

Aahun aahun aahun!aahun aahun aahun aahun aahun aahun aahun!!!

This is what I’ve been humming since yesterday.Yes,I watched ‘Love Aaj Kal’.But thats not the only reason I’m crooning this song.

Yesterday,Namnam watched her first movie and that too in a theater.YIPPIEEE!!!We had never planned to take her as she was never very fond of movies. We did try to show her Finding Nemo,Madagascar, and many other similar films,at home in the past, but she never sat through them. The only shows that really interested her and still do are Barney and Teletubbies! She would love to watch hindi songs and demand reruns too.But whenever we got down to watching those movies whose songs she loved, she would run to her room until the songs came up!

So I really dont know,if it was the right time for us take her to a theater or if she was too young or old for a movie.Frankly,I dont even want to think too much about the right or wrong of it.What I do know is that I feel great about it.She was a no-hassle child through those 2hours.She sat through the movie, except for the inevitable ‘shu-shu’ breaks! At times, even when she didnt have to pee as though to ensure there was a brighter world outside the theater too!
In all,we had immense fun and thats what mattered.

How was the film?Well,I loved it.It was an out-and-out feel good movie.Very positive, fresh and just the right length for one.Saif Khan,in both the roles was a treat to watch.I liked him more as Jai,though. He’s crackling with his comic-timing.The way he oozes suaveness and yet makes us want to hop-skip on our seats laughing, just by mouthing his dialogues is amazing!I’m not a big fan of Deepika Padukone, but have to say she looked gorgeous in the movie.I loved her outfits. And she looked really good with Saif Khan.
But I’ll still say SAK carried the whole movie forward, singlehandedly with his act!
The music was equally pleasing and hummable.I particularly liked ‘Aaj Din Chadeya’! Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is a magician,no doubt!

It is certainly a film worth a watch. In fact I wouldn’t mind watching it again, just to laugh more and…..ogle and drool more at Rahul Khanna! How I wish he had more of screen-time!

  2. You are lucky, Deepu. Very rarely children sit through the movie. Namnam is great!

I liked Saif in Dil Chaahatha hai. He is quite a good actor. Deepika…I don’t know. Haven’t seen her movie, yet.

D: Even I liked Saif Khan in DCH.He has really emerged as an actor.I didnt like Deepika much either in OSO or Bachna Ae Haseeno. But in this movie she is good. She is stunningly beautiful,no doubt. She carries herself pretty well. But I dont like the interviews she gives. She always tries to be politically correct and guarded which irks after a point πŸ˜€
Might watch this! I will hear the song you recommended, now!

    D: I’ve already linked it up.Its a beautiful song πŸ™‚

i watched it and i wantd to cry at Deepika’s lack of acting skills….such a pretty face n dialogue bola to…nahiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!! πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

D:I felt she was better in this one than in OSO & Bachna Ae haseeno. In those two films she made me want to pull my hair πŸ˜€

the songs were the saving grace for me….yeah, saif did both characters well…
oh oh oh….that punjabi song in courtyard…that “young arleen” character dancing..good lord that girl looked as nervous as a rabbit during rabbit hunting season!!!!

    D: πŸ˜† πŸ˜† .
seeing her fake expressions i wanted to go pat her and tell her to just relax for few mintues!!! no??? πŸ˜› πŸ˜› but she looked very pretty too!

D: Yes she did look nervous,na.The director was smart,I think,to have given her as less dialogues as possible. She was hardly audible πŸ˜€

    now the Rahul Khanna bit……..
    I AGREE!!!!!!!!!
    MORE RAHUL KHANNA!!!!!!!!!!!!
    WE WANT WE WANT!!!!!

*deeps n crafty sighing big time with glazed look in their eyes*

D: Do you think they will take out a Part2 with Rahul Khanna,crafty???..if so,we really need to start grooving to your ‘danganakka’ dance πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  5. Nammu is a sweetie pie. She sat through the movie? Now you can enjoy movies in theatres. πŸ™‚

    D: I’ve started planning for my next πŸ˜› πŸ˜€

Peanut too hated movies at that age and even now. She prefers short TV programs not movies but now changing.

I am waiting for LAK DVD. I am in love with ‘ajj din chadeya’ and heard it 26 times straight. Got it on my iPod so I can go crazier. πŸ˜€ I youtubed it and loved picturization too.

D: The first thing I did after getting back home was upload the song on my drive…its so soulful and romantic!I think the director has a real good taste in music. In Jab we Met too he had an equally soul-stirring track, aaoge jab tum oh saajna..have you heard it?? That, for me was the best song of the movie.

I am sad that Rahul Khanna is just 5 mins. Me likey Khanna brothers. πŸ˜›

D: I dont like Akshaye much, but Rahul Khanna is totally ‘my dil goes mmmm’ worthy πŸ˜€

Am really gng mad abt the reviews of this movie nw!!!! Two extremes! Music is gr8 though! Me luv luv luv Rahat Fateh Ali Khan!

Yes he is a real treat to the ears.Have you heard his ‘O re piya'(linking it here) from Aaja Nachle..ooohh its magic! The movie was a dud but this song stood out!

Deepika is really so bad in the movie?

D: Not that bad…even if she was it was easily covered by Saif’s great acting

  8. First movie experience for namnam? Good good…

Actually that’s a dilemma for me too. When is a right time for kids to watch movies in the cinema? But glad she sat through it. Surely the movie being 2 hr long must have helped. Why don’t you take her for Salaam-e-Ishq? πŸ˜‰ would be interesting to know her reactions on a 4 hr movie!!!!! πŸ˜€

D: Ha Ha! Very funny πŸ˜€

About LAK, I think the movie is a decent one time watch. But I absolutely loved the songs. But I think ‘twist’ could have been choreographed better. ‘Aahun aahun’ is awesome.

D: I loved the twist song picturization..Saif Khan has improved quite a lot as a dancer..you remember his ‘ole ole’ days?? πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

D: It was the same with me,Saritha.I used to shudder at the thought of taking namnam to a theater and sitting through a movie. But now I’m hoping things are beginning to look greener :mrgree:

My kids always barney, dora and hindi film songs. They won’t allow me to watch a full movie in the tv.

D: Ha!just because your sonny did all that you want my li’l one to be the same??Kroor Aurat!

Hey Aoghe jab tum from JWM is my favourite. Even after listening to it like a zillion times it stirs up so many emotions in my heart and my eyes fill up. Aaj Din…is so soothing and romantic no? I have no hopes of watching this movie or any hindi romantic movie in a theatre here. Both my boys are allergic to romantic movies and my husband says I acquire a weird love struck bollywood heroine look once I watch such movies. Men!!! grrr

D: Just have an occassional girl’s day/night out and indulge in all those movies that you’ve been craving for…it wl do you a world of good πŸ˜‰

    D: πŸ˜† ! it is worth a watch…at least once for sure,Pallu πŸ™‚

  15. How sweet of her to sit through the movie without crying like some children. I guess today’s kids love big screen and the entire Jing bang that comes with the movie theatre. I remember few years back when I stopped by Delhi and went to watch the then just released “Rang De Basanti” with my friends and it was the first movie experience for their daughter. She was so excited and I will never forget her remark … “mummy apko maza aaya raha hai! mujhe to bahut maja aa raha hai!”
I do agree that SAK is getting more handsome (going by looks only) by every passing film.

Love Aaj kal was a bit of a let down after jab we met, but still it was good.
Loved Saif ali khan’s jai act. He is superb, though he looked a bit old. And Rahul khanna? This guy has some serious drool factor.
