It is so majestic, Deeps! Love it! It also reminds me of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum.
D: Oh yes, the Ananthashayanam posture of Lord Vishnu! It does remind me too now since you’ve mentioned it. Its been ages since I’ve visited the kshetram, Smits!
And I went there when I was in college :). I remember my valiachan was with us and he had taken us to a hall where Swati Tirunaal apparently used to compose his kritis during his reign. I had sung a keerthanam there just to get a feeling. It was a magical feeling, Smits..cant express it in words π
I second Saksh π Please, please, please upload a song of yours!
Deeps, you learnt Carnatic music too? Me too – but at that time I wanted to learn dance more than music π¦ And now I wish I could learn again.
D: There I find another similarity between us :). I too was more interested in dance than music. But when I started learning dance, I realized I was never a good dancer. So left it midway and pursued my carnatic lessons. I do wish I had pursued my music more passionately though. I’m hoping Namnam would show some inclination towards it, so I can give my music books to her π
One more addition to wordless wednesday!
D: I had to join in, Sandhya..it was too tempting to resist π
This one is beautiful. I am seeing this photograph for the first time.
D: This is a Reclining Buddha. Its about 46meter long and 15meter high. Huge,no??
I have seen both Anantha Padmanaabhaswami and Srirangam Perumal in this posture. Really beautiful, Deepu. Thank you.
D: Your welcome, Sandhya π
Welcome to the WW club Dipsy π
D: I had to jump the bandwagon, Saksh..you guys didnt give me an option with all those breathtaking pics of yours π
When did you guys visit Bangkok? Did you get to try all their famous street food?
D: We went there in 2008..a few months before I started blogging :). Oh yes, I relish Thai cuisine and one of the reasons we went there was to get an authentic experience :). The other reason was the temples which I had heard so much about. And have to say each one was an amazing experience in itself π
This is a such a classic pose. One that I won’t mind being in throughout the day π
Will be eagerly waiting for all your WW snaps….yay!!!!
Ohh..hey.. I’ve been there..deja vu.. years and years ago.. just don’t remember much!! Magnificent sculpture though π
