Life’s little joys…mean the world sometimes

Sometimes life’s little joys bring the widest, purest of smiles, give you moments that you want to cherish forever.

Yesterday, while on our way back from the pool, Namnam had wanted to hear a song which for some reason I was unable to play in the car. So I suggested we took the CD home and played it there. No sooner had I played the song, than Namnam started shaking her hips. Seeing her excitement, I couldnt stop myself and joined her in shaking a leg or two. And in no time the two of us were dancing away to glory!

Now, I’m an absolute non-dancer. It will not be wrong to say that I have two left feet when it comes to dancing. I’ve never felt very comfortable while dancing. So much so that I get very conscious of my surroundings when I’m asked to dance.Forget about surroundings, parties or gatherings, I cant get myself to dancing even when I’m alone :D.

But yesterday, I just didn’t care two hoots about the world. Not that the world was watching me, but I didnt even care about my own inhibitions. I was probably putting even Sunny Deol to shame. But who cared! All I noticed was how happy Namnam was when I was dancing with her, how much it meant to her. All I cared about ware those smiles that lit up her face when she had me & R join her on the ‘dance floor’. Oh yes, R joined us too, a while later. And the three of us found the perfect way to close our 5 day loooong weekend!

Thats how little it takes sometimes, isnt it, to make one realize how some moments, howsoever small they seem, can bring so much of happiness? In our rush to catch up with our lives, many a times we forget to live these small, but precious moments to the fullest, dont you think?

Anyway here’s the song that had the three of us dance our heart out!

  1. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! I totally understand the ‘two left feet’ syndrome… Infact I would go further to say, I don’t have feet at all, when it comes to dance 😉 I’m pathetic, and even that is an understatement!!! But yes, like you’ve said, even R is absolutely delighted when I join him to wriggle and jiggle 🙂 Keep dancing, Deeps 🙂

D: You too, Pals!! Hi5, da!

      1. yeah man..it IS confusing! 😈
btw i dont get this..y do the mommies of blogville always refer their husbands by single alphabets!!
I mean..i cant seem to understand the logic there..they can give cute names to their kids n all like buddy..chingu….pingu..coconut..chulbul..pokemon..redbull…. etc etc..but y this injustice against the Poor husbands!!
They also have the basic human right to retain a full word as their names! Lets all join hands & stop this injustice !

Pleejjjj…Stop referring husbands by mere alphabets!

        ABCDEFGH..BLAH BLAH BLAH!!

        “HUSBANDS ARE HUMAN TOO!!” 😦

        1. The last comment was for Vimmu 🙄 and this one is for the Malika Sherawat of Blog world BRAT (in case you are wondering how, it’s becoz of the way Brat changes his name on every post the way she changes her bikini)

What logic you don’t understand man? We as the wives have the entire right to call our husbands whatever we want. Besides if we give them cute names like Honey, Hubby, Chakkara, Narangamuttayi etc etc am sure the male ego will take it as an insult and sulk every time our blog stares at them from the laptop. 😡 👿

Btw once you are married to that daughter of your ammayiappan what will you name her on your blog?

@Brat: ‘Jailchaadiya bhrandande paavam kettyol’ would be more apt, dont you think 😈

  2. dancing is all abt shedding ur inhibhtions my dear… no one is born a dancer we all become after letting go of the thing we have in our head 😀

D: You’re absolutely right Mon! This is exactly what I’d been telling myself before, and yet I just couldnt bring myself to shedding those inhibitions! But thankfully y’day I could 😀

yay to dancing deeps now 🙂

  4. I’ve two left feet with 5 toes each and am the reason Sunny Deol has the guts to dance in public :)But yet when the little ones were really little, I used to pick them up and waltz around to their favorite music 🙂 They used to squeal with delight. So I understand what you are saying here. I guess hence the idea that the best things in life are free.

    D: Priceless moments, aren’t they?

  8. Ok first let the cute mommy comment “Awwwwww choooo sweet. muahhhh to you both” 🙂

Now the yakshi “I agree to all that Vimmu and the Brat said. Control Deeps Control. We don’t want you to leave behind craters all around in the gulf you see” 👿

Ps: I can dance and am sure Namnu, Poohi and Moi together will burn the dance floor 😛 You and Smithu can handle the little sunny paji of my son

D: I dont mind taking care of your sunny..I’ll be glad to do so in fact. But I’m not quite sure Samy will want to be with this non-dancer aunty when he sees three gorgeous girls burning the dancer floor with their killer moves 😀

  9. Hi Deeps, I can very well identify with the two left feet thing !! I have the same problem, but just like you did, I do it often with my daughters at home, and it is so exhilarating. Now a days my elder daughter seems to have understood that her mother is too good in dancing 😉 so in the midst of this ‘dancing away to glory’ she catches hold of my hand teaches me ‘mamma aise nahi, dekho aise karo” 😦

D: LOL, Rekha! That was classic :).

  17. Yes! to the title. It’s just wonderful to be just being goofy with your child and doing all the crazy stuff you otherwise shy away from.

I watched Aisha. I’m sure you can dance much better than that Sonam Kapoor.:) What a non-actor, non-dancer, the girl is.

D: I find her so irritating too!! I liked the movie though, but only because of the very delectable Abhay Deol ;). Sad that he had very little screen time in the movie.

Hugs to Nammu chakkara and her sweetu Mom.

D: Hugsssss to you too 🙂
