Day3: This is really good..

For an upset tummy 😀

These are ajwain ( Bishop’s weed) plants growing in my garden. Aside the fact that the plants are used for indigestion, diarrhea and other ailments, I love the smell that emanates at the slightest touch of the leaves. I remember my mother making parathas stuffed with ajwain seeds for us. Oh how I used to love eating them!

  1. I have these growing in my garden, too. I love the smell, too, though I don’t use these leaves in any way. The OH likes to chew on a few leaves whenever he has a cold or a sore throat.

    1. I am yet to use them in my cooking, although I think the leaves can be used in salads if mixed with some olive oil and lime. Need to try 🙂
I have the seeds at home which I use in parathas, of course and also while boiling water to drink.

  2. Oh you have ajwain plants in your garden! Cool! The leaves look lovely, and you say they smell good–do they taste good too? Then you could chop them and add to the dough for making parathas…

    1. That’s a good idea, SH. I remember getting a taste of the leaves in a salad once during a dine out. I could try doing that with my leaves here, and in parathas 🙂

    1. I just used the leaves to boil drinking water for my daughter, Rachna. She has been having a spell of dry cough since last night. After seeing your comment, thought of this 🙂 How do you make kadha btw?
